PPP Loan Forgiveness

We're here to help

We at ConnectOne Bank are committed to working with you throughout the life cycle of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). If you have received a PPP loan, the next step in the process will be the Loan Forgiveness Application. Eligible borrowers* may qualify for up to 100% of the PPP loan.

We recommend that you take a proactive approach and begin documenting your eligible expenses as incurred during the covered period. To that end, the US Small Business Administration (SBA) has published SBA Form 3508 -- Loan Forgiveness Application Instructions for Borrowers, which can be found here. The SBA has also released two Interim Final Rules (IFR) that provide additional clarification and instruction.

The SBA Form 3508 (along with the instructions contained therein) and the IFR's can be used to calculate and document your eligible expenses. Please read these instructions carefully and understand all borrower certifications on page 4 of the SBA Form 3508. We encourage you to consult with your legal or financial advisors for additional guidance.

This notification is intended for information purposes-- no further action is required at this time.

We will follow up with instructions on submitting the application, which may include a digital form of the attached SBA form 3508.

* The Small Business Act authorizes the Administrator to conduct investigations to determine whether a recipient or participant is ineligible for a loan, or has violated section 7(a), or any rule, regulation or order issued thereunder. The Administrator may review whether a borrower is eligible for the PPP loan based on the provisions of the CARES Act, the rules and guidance available at the time of the borrower's PPP loan application, and the terms of the borrower's loan application. See 1.e of the IFR RIN 3245-AH47

Information contained herein does not constitute legal advice or a determination of eligibility. If you have specific questions regarding a particular circumstance, we urge you to consult competent legal counsel.
